Message from John Tc Yeh

December 2, 2011

By Bug

Last week a federal judge sentenced John T.C. Yeh, former CEO of Rockville deaf services business Viable, to nine years in prison and ordered him to pay restitution of $20 million for his role in a multimillion-dollar government fraud case. About 100 people attended the court for John’s case. They were supporting him. Most of them were from the Deaf community.

John TC Yeh is heartbroken for what he did. He loves the Deaf community and wishes to share the statement he gave at the court with everyone. See his statement below.

I feel very little sympathy for him,, basically he got CAUGHT,, end of story, now he has to DO THE TIME FOR THE CRIME,,out of the entire “speech” he gave, only one thing made sense “move on”.

Too bad for him. He is crook! He lied about not knowing about the fraud. He knew it since day one. He sent an email to someone saying “It looks good, not too long ones. Be sure that it is not obvious to raise red flag”.

    Good riddance! Rot in prison.

In spite of conclusion of the court made for both Yeh brothers, I feel for their families, who, unfortunately, suffer for what John and Joseph did either intentionally or unintentionally, more than anything. I can imagine how painful their families are feeling at this point, especially when it’s close to the holidays. Fortunately, both of their families are allowed to have more time with their husbands, fathers, and grandfathers before they both are sent to correction facilities.

My thought and prayer are with both families.

I forgave him! I pray for his family!

Peachlady, you are right.. some of comment are unfriendly.. I studied John Yeh’s apologized to Deaf Community which mean he’s not greedy.. but They read American english is very hard for them and they born in HK . Their language is very different. They have a HK culture. I watch his vlog.. I understand better.

P & Cloggiegirl, You need to behavior accused John Yeh’s… It is not their on purpose to hurt to deaf community.. His comment is very sorrow and want to apologized for confusion in all of American which mean he did not mean to hurt to FCC. Simple he and his brother are not familiar about FCC policy and very confused the laws. It is very complications to understand full about FCC. if you running your own business .. you would not understand about FCC with a VideoRelay Service with a FCC..

YOU STOP ACCUSED John’s business were not dirty business.. it is too hard for them to read english. Behavior .. you are childlish!

matSeattle – if you want to set up a business and you don’t understand the policies / laws / requirements, then you better hire a specialist (i.e., lawyer) to work with you. That will help prevent you from getting into trouble. I do not buy Yeh’s story that he does not understand English and he’s from a different culture, etc… Sorry! It’s the same thing — I go to another country to set up a business, does that give me the right to disregard their policies / laws / requirements?? Heck, no! I would hire a specialist (not an employee, mind you!) to make sure I am on the right track. Yeh broke the laws and he has to pay the price, period!

    To whom it may concern,

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion or to share their perspective on any thing. Do not criticize, judge or start war with them. You don’t tell them how they should think or see issues. Respect their opinion and perspectives like you would want others to do to you. If you attack one, you will get attacked. If you want to defend your stand, just do it discreetly and with appropriate approaching.

Talk and act like adults, please.

    Thank you

CAC is the main responsibility to destroy the VRS industries. They let Viable to borrow/use their FCC license while CAC received the large profit from Viable and other VRS businesses. CAC never inspected or kept in touch to check the businesses which have the FCC license from CAC (to make sure that they followed FCC rules). I would not surprise when Fed catch CAC some day. CAC destroyed themselves, stop blaming Viable and other VRS industries!

The truth is that I am a BAIT at large. It is no joke. I am telling you the truth back to 2003, I was hired as a crew for Macy’s in San Francisco Bay. My first year in 2003, I don’t know much about the rule. No interpreters in my first year and the hearing people didn’t help me adjusting my doing. That is why the hearing people found my mistakes at the end of my first year. The people taled (tell) the human resources manager and guards in the department store. Next day, I went to my work at Macy’s, the guards quickly approached me and watched me. I didn’t do any wrong. I suspect myself that my gesture, behavior, and doing were pointed out where the hearing people found. About a month later, Human Resources manager ordered to change me the position. But it couldn’t help me the better, I barely know about their hearies’ sercet witness at the beginning of 2004 to about 2007. I noticed the hearing people’s cars flocked to my car in the evening when I was off to work. They followed me where I went. Arrived at my work, I recognized they are nosy on me. They still use cell phone or smartphone to tale where I go or what I do after Macy’s laid me off in January 2009.

Absolutely, I was working for Viable as an installer for a year from middle of 2008 to the middle of 2009. Viable asked me to assemble the booth at Deafnation. I said okay and asked the volunteers to help assembling the booth to set up. Viable was willing to pay to the volunteers. It was nice. Next day (Saturday), Viable ordered me to demonstrate (show) to the Deafnation goers what VPAD was. I saw the white person who is hearing using cellphone near Viable booth. It was kind of bothersome in my mind that he used the cellphone. Now, I know it. That is why Viable busted. I realized I should avoid the precious business of Deaf owners. It was a random the hearies are looking for after being me a BAIT. I guess they want a revenge on me for a silly reason because I worked for Macy’s. Macy’s is the federal department store, you know. That is what I am telling you the truth. The public in my local bay area are angry with me because they got traffic tickets from the street police.

The discussion on John Yeh’s ability to understand English is moot. Yeh graduated with master degree in computer science. Can you imagine how it is difficult when there was no ADA to provide equity access. This showed Yeh is able to compete in adversary situation and passed school which required good English writing to get good grade. Second, the investigation report showed Yeh knows Viable was stealing money from federal government and he encourages to keep going.

Otherwise, I recognized and celebrate Yeh’s contributions to deaf community. It is immeasurable! I looked up. But, I am fractured by Yeh’s action. He admitted guilty. However, the decision of judge was right and fair.

What I am sadder about is that maybe Yeh is first deaf person to be convicted of white collar crime. It is a terrible thing for a man who work hard and break the barriers finished with black eye.

I am hoping there is new information that will change the whole picture and put Yeh in better position and that the other VRS companies who got away get the same penalty for the crime it committed.

MatSeattle and some of you who defended Yeh-

Not knowing English or not being smart doesn’t give you an excuse to make false phone calls and to hire people to make fake calls. NO EXCUSE. Yeh deceived those people and fooled them into thinking he is such a nice, generous guy who donated to people and organizations. OFC duh it was part of his game plan to look “holy” so that way people would not find out what his ulterior motive is- If he really cared about the deaf community and giving them opportunities then why did he make these fake calls and stole 20-40 millions from FCC? What kind of person does that???
That reflects his and the others’ true character = GREEDY and he lied and denied about it in the first place then got shit scared when the court indicated he and others could go to jail for longer if they please not guilty.
So he pleaded guilty out of hope that he and others would get away with it…He uses the excuse that he donated to the deaf community… DUH he donated the money he “stole” from FCC to the deaf community, so that way we would praise him and say “aww wow John Yeh has a big heart and donated to the community…wow” thats the reaction he wanted from us…hello! OH PLEASE! What they did was wrong and it was alll an ACT and it doesn’t matter if you think u know him well. Sometimes u do not know a person at all even if u ve known ’em for years…
Then he tried to apologize to the public to get our sympathy and pity…pathetic… Don’t be so blind and delusional- he sure got to some of you…WAKE UP…jeez…so he and others deserve to be punished and this is not something they can simply get away with..they broke the law and deceived the government and people and took advantage of the government and now FCC lost their trust and respect for the deaf community and its a huge disgrace for us…shame shame big time…dont be so gullible and delusional.

Seriously, when will FBI and FCC disclosure Bonheyo and Bonheyo LLC (Bridget and Jerry Bonheyo) who made illegitimate calls, Just like John Yeh did? Bridget and Jerry Bonheyo literally ran the sweatshop for call center to generate a lot of dirty money from FCC.

I have worked for both Bonheyo as volunteer and they are VERY GREEDY people! I know John Yeh too. They both have a similar characters as in greedy. She once told me that someone owes her 200,000 dollars from between est. 2007-2009 from her “VRS” company. I am pretty sure they worked for John Yeh or those people who arrested alongside with Yehs.

What have you done about them such as making a report to FCC? If you did nothing about it, Why? It has to be done something if they still run the business and still practice the dishonesty! If I were in your position, I’d have done immediately if I knew who and where to report the action. Do something about it NOW!

Thank you for reading my message and please do feel free to reply if you have an answer tomy questions.

    Thank you,

Richard Roehm who is the CEO of Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center in California had a vision in 2002. The telecommunications relay service concept being used through internet. He had a concept for a simple and honest operation of a new internet based communication access service for those who cant normally hear and or speak through the telephones.

On May 31, 2002 at 1:26 PM, Richard set up an AIM account “ocdacrelay” for the purpose of demonstrating his vision to key players of the California Relay Service. Years later, internet based telecommunications relay service companies started to pop up.

Instead of being credited or thanked for his vision, Richard was severely criticized and bullied in almost every imaginable way; through nasty rumors, nasty blogging, falsely accused of doing many nasty things, banned from popular deaf websites, banned from some deafness related trade shows, and unfairly treated as a leeper.

Furthermore his vision was modified and exploited by the deaf militants to take advantage of the taxpayers as were seeing in the news these days.

Before anyone makes any decisions pertaining to the future of the Telecommunications Relay Service industry, they need to know what happened to Richard Roehm.

See the evidence and learn more about this at these two url locations http://tinyurl.com/ocdac-trs and http://tinyurl.com/ocdacrelay and you be the judge of the evidence presented and you be the judge of the deaf community.

I precisely wanted to thank you so much all over again. I do not know the things I would have worked on without the entire smart ideas discussed by you directly on this industry. It was before an absolute traumatic issue in my view, however , Himachal Tourism finding out this professional technique you processed the issue took me to cry with joy.
