Mother Kills Her Best Known Deaf Son then Herself

Now Police believe the mother shot her son Shawn Hutchenson then burned the house before killing herself. Investigators are trying to figure what may have driven a mother to kill her own child, and then herself at their home in Achworth, Georgia. Shawn was 42 and moved back with his mother from Colorado. He was handy with computers and enjoyed his hobbies such as photography, website design, etc. He loved Starbucks. He was passionate photographer and specialize in weddings, engagements, portraits and scenery.

    I am a friend of Shawn’s. In fact, my family and I wss his last client for pictures. Let you know that he was not moving back here. He was going back to Colorado on the 15th… 😦

    Shawn has always been his own individual with a vision of making a place beautiful using his craft and humor. I know he has always tried to do his best with the hands he dealt with and always came out as a trooper. You will be missed in our knit tight Deaf Georgians community and abroad. Shawn, now fly and be free!

    grew up with Shawn, he was my friend, had not heard from him since getting a wedding invitation a few years back. Heard his name on the news this morning. Shawn I love you man, loved your mom too, I cant imagine how this happened, but i know you are with God and i will see you again my friend.

    Thank you so much for posting here to honor our beloved Deaf Georgian, Shawn. I have known him for more than 20 years. He was a great sense of humor, friendly and sweet Southern gentleman. Lauren is correct that He had been in Georgia since Christmas.

    Note: The Deaf community in Atlanta have lost two wonderful Deaf friends, Shawn and our great locally Deaf model role, Raymond Baker, 81, passed away on the same weekend. It is hard on us.

    i know him so well through deaf chatroom and ex owner of deafmeek.. he is very cool man and good friend to people who know him so well.. his screename was mountain man in deaf chatroom.. i am so shocked about this sad news.. he is in better place and take care of him in heaven.. peace out…

    He will be sorely missed. I am simply in shock. He is one of friendly guys and has put in effort to be one of good photographers in the Deaf community. Have known him since 86. Wow…

    I am Shawn’s cousin here in Georgia and we are very saddened by the tragedy that took place this past weekend, we grew up very close and moved apart as we grew older but I always knew him as a thoughtful, caring and funny guy. We will never know how far his talent could have taken him and he will be sorely missed. I have set up a memorial group on Facebook if anyone would like to upload photos or just tell a funny story or two, it is called Shawn Hutcheson Memorial Group. Thanks for all the kind words, the family is trying to come to grips with the unexplainable…

    It is really SAD news to read the article that his mom killed him first before her. We will never know why she did this.

    I’ve met Shawn twice in the past and I could see that5 he devoted to community service will be long remembered by the people and his friends. May your memories be a source of comfort.
