    Glickman writes:

“Deaf people can do anything, except hear.”- I. King Jordan (Former President of Gallaudet University)”

For the sake of the historical truth, it was the late Dr. Frederick Schreibner, president of the NAD, who said that line (infra supra). May I, therefore, suggest that Glickman
re-write “I. King Jordan borrowed the late Dr. Frederick
Schreibner’s line.” He might take the liberty to add that
albeit late-deafened, I. King Jordan prefers being considered as “hearing” (media, 1978).

As I am deaf from birth is something that I learned from my dad, he often told me “Be proud of yourself, show the people who you are and do not allow them to push you down, if they do, they have no knowlege of beauty life in the deaf world”

I love all these quotes. My son is deaf and I have been learning Sign Language since he was about 6 mnhs old; he is 21 now. He can do “ANYTHING” ….I’m so proud of him. I do encourage anyone out there to appreciate a hearing impaird person and the struggle they have sometimes to reach their dreams. They are not different…they are UNIQUE…Love,
    Lucy

Hey Louise,I wouldn’t mind doing a liltte of homework of my own. For instance, please tell Ben that he is my “hero” because:1) He accepts everyone as they are.2) His heart never lets him give up (Only him and I can truly know what this means).3) His is the king of video games and so very funny!I love him too!!!Mattp.s. Please, ask Ben, “Does he want to go see Dolphin Tale?” –it looks like a must see!
