Tagdeaf.com “TD” is one of many social networking sites such as AllDeaf, MySpace, Facebook, Orkut, etc. Tagdeaf was developed by Alex Chu, the founder of the Deaf forum at www.AllDeaf.com.
Presently, TD has about 9636 members. About 15 percent of them use it all the time or every other day or so. In a population this large there has to be those who don’t play well with others, some even downright nasty. This site itself mostly in comments to a member’s post, sometime those who don’t respect the rules, will write anything bad about another member or anyone such as non-members, website owners, co-workers, classmates, etc . This is not merely expressing a different opinion, something that should be encouraged but expressing that opinion in a malicious manner. Many people love disagreeing with their virtual friends without any logic, yet the same people do not know how to deal with anyone disagreeing with them in the offline world.
While social networking sites can increase a person’s circle of friends, they can also increase exposure to people with less than friendly intentions. TD is either a good site or not, it is everyone’s personal choice to join as a member or not. More and more people are interacting online for many different reasons. For examples: they do not have time to hang out, or they do not know how to interact with people in the offline world, or they want to improve their writing skills, or they want to make new friends, or they ask for some personal advices relating to the computers issues, traveling, friends, etc. That is both good and bad. We wonder if the online socializing networking sites are helping people destroy their own offline socializing skill, by over-simplifying the concept of communicating with others. Do online social networking sites both help and damage communication skills ?
However, many tagdeaf members leave tagdeaf for some personal reasons. Many people felt so betrayed and belitted because they thought they were friends. Many people said that website owner Alex is unprofessional. Some said that he has no monitors to watch over his website. Others said it’s unethical when he shared the information about his members with others. He banned some people for no reasons.
Fookem was a member of TD for 4 months. He was banned in September 2006 after he asked other TD members in the Tagdeaf chatroom, “What if Alex hosts the Deaf Camp, will you go or not?”. A few hours later Fookem was not be able to access his account on this TD site. Also, Bug was a member at TagDeaf.com for a good 7 months. The fun was beginning until it got worst because of scammers, backstabbers, hateful gossipers, aggressive behaviors, etc. Bug requested the owner to cancel his account in November 2006. After he left, many people thought that Bug got banned but not.
There is a growing trend where people act in different manners that some people find themselves consider to be smart, and they assume that such online actions, related to socializing, make them smart in the offline world. Lot of them doesn’t realize that they have been fallen into the traps where others would attack and hurt. Many people love disagreeing with their virtual friends without any logic, yet the same people do not know how to deal with anyone disagreeing with them in the offline world.
When it got out of control. Many members posted and left their angry comments until the tagdeaf owner Alex stepped in and wrote on his website (TagDeaf) on December 30, 2007:
Ok, I’m sure I’m not the only one here that’s getting really tired of the negative posts that’s taken place in forums, blogs, bulletins and profiles lately. These negative posts are mostly about one’s personal beef with another member. This has to stop RIGHT NOW.
If you have a problem with another member, take it outside of TagDeaf.com, please. That includes messaging the other member you have a problem with.
If you don’t like TagDeaf for whatever reason, don’t whine about it here, instead don’t bother visiting the site at all and move on.
If you want to quit TagDeaf, don’t post about it anywhere on the site, instead message me privately and ask for your account to be removed and I’ll gladly do so.
Rumors, backstabbing, lying, all that BS has got to stop, seriously. TagDeaf isn’t the place for all that nonsense. There’s already enough of that drama in the real world, no need to bring it here.
Anyone that refuses to cooperate will get a warning following a permanent ban. I hate to do this but I have to do what I have to do.

The different issues have not been solved. Until last week many members start to speak out against the owner. One of this message was written by TD Member MtDewTaz8 on April 11, 2008, which it was interesting. It was posted before Alex removed it. Read on:

So, Alex, what I am inquiring about the recent incident where someone posted an inflammatory nude pictures of a current TD member in an innocent friend of the person’s forum. That’s an apparent violation of Terms & Conditions of a membership here on TagDeaf and some people MAY have reported this to you. Yet, I do not understand……you have not banned this particular person who have made the disgusting posting which I am pretty sure you are familiar with.
This is a severe violation, Alex, because it is harmful, offensive, pornographic nature of a TD member. I know you do not get along with this TD member but it is imperative for you to take action in accordance with terms & conditions you set forth for your website operations. I thought that the TD member who made the slanderous posting would get the hook if you have more professional wisdom to ban this person and block her IP address permanently even though she is among your friends’ circles and be sure that this TD member would not be able to once access TD again under different name whether using same or different IP address.
Alex, I believe that if you do not follow up with this and enforce the terms & conditions then others will see that and take advantage to harm other members and placing more burden on your shoulders which you do not needly deserve. It may “weaken” your control over your website operations as they know they can get away with it thanks to their casual friendship relationship with you.

Ooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkk….I am a member of the TAG DEAF site,, and I think there is a few misconceptions here,, when MM created Seek Deaf….. a bunch of TD’ers … followed him over in search of greener pastures,, so to speak,,The BANNED members were Banned for reasons, ie violating the code of conduct. Nasty forums were removed yes, people were banned yes, granted Alex does not have monitors/moderators but he does eventually get back and does glance over things and does not delete unless there is something in violation.
Now the problems all went out of control when members of SD came over to TD and started rocking the boat,, and trying to capsize the boat in process. SD members were banning certain members left and right,, I have a perment ban on my IP address, which I found PLAIN STUPID,, they are not protecting Government secrets by banning me from SD, I went in as a member of SD, I took a look around, and did not like what I saw, requested the owner to remove my account, wht he did was he passed me over to one of his moderators who in turn wanted to know WHY I wanted my account deleted.. I did not feel that it was any ones buisness why I wanted my account deleted,, So I canceled it by myself ( after some one told me I could do it myself )( however as I said my IP address was permently banned soon after that,,sighhhh)
another SD member came over to TD.. this person saw something they did not like on a forum and spoke out,, this person was automatically banned from SD for having the guts to speak out against one of the other SD members. Basically they(SD) are banning people before they can even get their toes in the door,just because they have a similiar IP address to some one else or from the same state or same city of some one THEY THINK IS NOT RIGHT for SD.. are u guys following me on this?????
So to be bluntly honest,, it is not,, all ALEX CHU’S fault,, it does not have any thing to do with TAG DEAF per se, but the PEOPLE in the site. There are good people there are bad people, like every where else. It is the people that MAKE A SITE or forum or whatever,, not the site owner,, the site owner gives them a place to socialize, and PRAY for the best, and tries to run it the best he/she knows how. With or with out Monitors. TD has had its moments where every one gets along, then one person or persons come in and make one nasty comment then all hell breaks loose..
I know there are going to be some people who are going to bash the shit out of me but that is what I expect, cos that is just how it is with some of these people.
I remember Fookem and Bug FONDLY in TD,, and miss their banter…and I am glad to have their frienship.
Any way,,,,,,,,,,,,, this was just my 2 euro cents worth,, and basically my OPINION and my perspective of all of this..
Tagdeaf is part of the alldeaf scam. You need not to make Alex your god either and youre welcome to bash alldeaf as you see fit.

No, Tagdeaf is not getting ugly, SEEKDEAF is getting UGLY because SD members have been start top fight in TD members to have war. Now TD members are blame on MountainMan for doing like this. MM should STOP to let his people to fight with TD members. SD monitor made the biggest mistake for post her nude in the internet. Seekdeaf should leave Tagdeaf alone.

Deaf forums exist for their own reasons( hearing forums too ), if you don’t like a certain forum, just leave or skip over and go look at something else( no nasty comments needed). We are all adults so grow up and act like one.
Tag deaf and Seek Deaf are two different sites, run by two different men ,who lead two very,very different life styles.

I’ve been banned from alldeaf that has nothing to do with alldeaf, it was something personal between Alex and I, and I got banned permanently for it. It’s all one big freggin joke. If Alex is gonna run a forum, he needs to act professional, follow his own set of rules, If he wants the drama to stay out of his forums, then he needs to take his own advice and follow through. Stop banning people that has nothing to do with the forum.

Come on you guys!!! you need to grow up and there are everywhere in the world that anybody make their own forums. Like for sample, E-Bay, Craiglist, myspace or other items. We have everything what we want to chat or pay online or other things. So, SD or TD didnt matter to me as long as we get along. Getting to know new faces. That’s embarassed me about TD or SD’s story. I can see the true color they are and that is not my type to talk with people like this. Be positive and happy life…:)

When I first joined TagDeaf in July 2006.I am very glad to get to see my old friends there again and made many awesome new friends….
During from begin to now. I have watched so many problems came up..the reason? No monitors on TagDeaf…
It is sad to see so many of my friends left TagDeaf to join other site…
I am not a member of SD ( I have my reason) SD and TD members have the freedom to go either sites…
All I want to see is to have some peace on TAgDeaf with monitors….
I sure miss to have Bug around with his famous jokes, remember the good laugh and good time…It would be great to go back time…but it is real world… what have had happened cannot be fix….unless something have to be done…..

It’s so hilariously when some people says they hate dramas yet they get themselves involved and read it anyways and it doesn’t take rocket science to figure it out. Sorry but I am sick of people on their high horses preaching about “dramas”, I would just say to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes before we judge or criticize them
Since we weren’t IN that person’s shoes, we have no claim in saying what was right or wrong so therefore you have no room to judge or criticize.
Above all, I always tell people how great it is that we HAVE that chance to hear both sides of things and make up our own minds. I feel that everyone has a choice, either listen or walk away, simple as that.

My experience? Tried SD after lurking on the front page of TagDeaf. Signed up and went to bed. Tried to sign in the next day to explore a bit, and was “IP banned” without explanation. I decided to join TagDeaf at that point, because I just wanted a place to post forums and meet people. I had lurked there a few times, so I was familiar with the format. I enjoy most of what happens there. I think there is a division between members. Not all members choose sides, but the ones that do are by far the most vocal. There are some bizarre characters in this drama, and I tread carefully to avoid being depicted as white hat or black hat. It is not easy to get along without mods on the forum, but common sense should prevail. There are obvious topics that are posted to enrage certain members. I wish there was a quicker response to remove these topics and the poster/member. However, the site is provided free of charge. Nobody forces anyone to join or read anything. Perhaps there will be some mods down the road. Until then, it is presented “as is” and if you don’t like it, find the door.
When I joined SD and thought they were cool until I learned that they banned me out for no reason, for nothing. While I was member of SD and somehow I got an attention from aperson who post nude in internet (SD montior), this is really disgusted. I should report violate on SD montior for doing nude in internet as far as MM possibility know about it, why not MM banned SD monitor out for doing stupid nude in internet???
About TD, I never been joined TD because it say this section is closed, rme. But while I was member in SD and it posted so many many negative against TD. I believe that SD is the one who started to get top fight over with TD.. But Alex who own this site should more pay attention and come to his own site more often than going out to party or whatever. Alex,,, about asking people for the money, you are scammer. It’s against law for you to doing this since you have own website and how can you (Alex) afford to pay website? Is that reason you (Alex) ask people for money to donations. This is very wrong. I joined TD to meet new people. I’ve not met many nice people when I joined. First of all, there were cussing in the Shout Box for a long time cussing and name calling to new members and other members. Later, I’ve seen many backstabbers, bullying picks on few TD members. For example: posting a real picture of someone’s face and place it on the animation saying “Eat my Poop”, another animation showed members having sex, another members use children porns. So, it seems that these were never taken action when it happened. Few times from the Gallery, it was removed. I feel for one member who had to put up so long from the member using his/her picutes and place it on the animation of having sex with prisoners. Claiming that it was funny. I do not see that is funny at all. That person who made the animation must be sick in the head. I wondered how this person feel having his/her picture placed without permission. This person feeling got hurt. That was not cool at all. That is called cyberbullying.
There were times of quiet and peace where some members would post jokes after jokes, telling jokes from articals and some comment about it. Names were never brought up until one person decided to come in and started to stir up the problem because she was BORED! And claimed it was “Freedom of Speech”.
Once a member was banned from TD. MM decided not to come back to TD until this member is back. It went on for the longest time. This is when MM decided to have his own site. He say he is trying to help Deaf people because we are family, however, he and his monitors banned some people that they didn’t know them personally. They use alot of their ASSumption on a one member from California where there are thousand of deafies live in San Diago was banned over one person claiming it is that person. This is not helping Deaf people in SeekDeaf “to be family”. It’s so called “The Ghettoes of 24/7”.
Other thing too, there is a bible thumper in TD claiming “whosoever”, in the name of ******* need to apologize to this ******. And this person who bullying this person owe him/her an apology. You must ADMIT you are sin. Damn, that was way out of the line when it comes to meet new people.
Some members have disagreement with other members. But for some reason if one disagree, you are their enemy til you leave TD period. They will hunt you out of TD. Few, of course, either got banned, or never came back.
The thing about this is that it is so immature with some SD members thinks they got something going. They really don’t. They don’t have life outside of this world. It’s ashame to see one or two or few to say they’ve been enjoying showing themself on their vblogs, videos, with their great egoisms. It’s all about themself, who said this and that, she said, and he said, it’s a never ending 24/7 ghettoes’ lifestyle.
Not all dating online will be a good place to meet friends. It’s everywhere. But you ask, is Tag Deaf getting worse? The answer is NO. It the people who keeps coming back attacking TD members.
I like the way TD was before. Posting positive jokes and laugh about it. Not the picture of someone and place it on any animation that’s made inapropriate. That is not funny.
I always admire this site. FookemBug is a hell of an investigator! They can crawl up anyoen’s with the best of them. Good job!

I spent a few months on td in the early days.the person who posted her nudie shots for all the world to see was the biggest basher and foulest mouth in the shout box, they made new members feel very un welcome( hence people leaving TD ). later i returned and found it had gotten more and more out of control, where was the site owner? People who were offended by the harshness and foulness of this person reported it frequently, finally the Admin, came on shout box and the person cussed him out in front of some other members, the admin, typed, any one else want to say the same thing this person just did. No one did, so the nasty mouthed person was banned. Mind you MM was also in the shout box when this occured, he didn’t do a darn thing to “defend” his foul mouthed friend, but instead he created a site so she could feel free to cuss her hearts content, make videos and show her tiny daughter in the back ground playing alone in a messy home.
Finally the last straw was MM allowed her to post a LIFE THREATENING video,this of course is of more violation than those ugly nude photos. Funny thing in the video she says she had just gotten home from CHURCH because it would PLEASE MM so much,,,,, then in the same breath she is cussing a blue streak and threatening to kill a certain member for posting her photos .
As of this morning the rumours filtered down that MM is banning certain people if they as much mention the words Tag Deaf.I am sorry this is so hilarous that I can not stop laughing, does he realize that 3/4 of his members are ACTUAL Tag Deaf members.And they are still playing on either site.( but other TD members have their IP addresses banned from SD for whatever paranoid reasons they(SD) have )
I certainly hope that the FORMER TD members who are in SD,, will DELETE THEIR ACCOUNTS IN TD and just stay in SD, and maybe finally there will be peace on both sites.Because this is the lull before the storm,peace does not last long especially when there are so many veiled threats. As Alex is fond of saying, the world has enough drama as it is, leave the drama out of Tag Deaf and other deaf sites . For once I agree with Mr Chu.

Frau_In_Va has been battling bi-polar for many years. She has a panic attack and blames everyone for no reason. She does feel SELFISH for needing support The feeling of anxiety she feels after making a new topic is a normal reaction to the act of communicating a distress which she have held within herself, a release of emotion. Actually the guy looks immenseley depressed in the above video prompt. I didn’t see it before it was discontinued. I really don’t see revenge as a good virtue………a man claiming religious virtue should teach virtues.
Maybe should give him some slack…..encourage to let it go and/or find some help….I don’t mean that in a bad way. Good luck.
