BIG RIVER (musical)

The 58th Annual Tony Awards were given out at Radio City Music Hall at New York City on June 6, 2004. The Big River (muscial) was very beautiful. An American Sign Language adaptation of the 1985 musical about Huckleberry Finn, the show, with a combined cast of deaf, hard of hearing and hearing actors, showed at the Denver Center Theathre and many other places. I was lucky enough to be able to attend and watched the Big River three years ago and I must say I enjoyed watching it. Check this video and enjoy:

    I totally agree with you. I was able to get my wife and daughter to see the play here in Houston for like 5 to 10 minutes tops. Had to leave because the daughter got sick. I was disappointed but was positive thinking that the play will come back every year. Years later, it was not true. I even asked the production company to see if they have a DVD that I would buy immediately. They said they don’t have DVDs for sale. Anyway, the 5 to 10 minutes of watching that show was the best time I had.

    wow, it was sooooo amazing to see that clip! They should make DVDs. I never heard or knew till I saw this. It really impressed me.

    I wish I could get the DVD if there’s available. But I’m really glad, you shared it!

    I loved this musical, I would have given any thing to have seen it on stage.. as every one said, it would be cool if it was availble on DVD,, but I doubt every Broadway Musical is on DVD ..

    I saw this production when it came to Columbus several years ago and have been hoping that it would return so that I could take my students to see it. Big River is the best show that I’ve ever seen, and we go to many of the Broadway Across America productions. I would definitely buy a dvd of it since I’ve almost worn out my cd. My junior English students need to experience this program. PLEASE BRING THIS PRODUCTION BACK!!!
