Sign Language Barbie Doll

March 2, 2008

In 1999, Sign Language Barbie was developed in partnership with the National Center of Deafness at California State University to ensure the doll instructed sign language accurately and was not offensive to deaf people or those hard of hearing. They are rare to be found at the stores. You might want to read more about Sign Language Barbie Doll, click: http://www.calstate.edu/newsline/Archive/99-00/000605-Nor.shtml

I recently bout two of these through a bid I won on EBAY. I bought two African American Sign Language dolls. One for me and one for a friend who is a collector. They are becoming tough to find but right now their are bids on ebay for them and criaglist as well. They are costing anywhere from 26-107 dollars. Goodluck on finding them. In the next few years they will be even harder to find. I paid 60 a piece for two. Totally worth it. This is a groundbreaking iconic Barbie.
