  2. One more DBN
    December 2, 2007 at 3:51 pm

There is one more deaf broadcast network you overlooked and it is http://www.csd.tv with two series show going on.

  3. December 3, 2007 at 7:26 am

There is only one DBN (Deaf Broadcast Network, LLC). It is the parent company of NetSignNews.com which is a free daily international, national, and community news show in ASL with voice, and “talk About It”, a discussion and interview show on Sunday. The NetSignNews.com program is kind of like a mini CNN for the Deaf and hearing impaired.

We at NetSignNews.com like csd.TV and we encourage everyone to watch their program as well as ours.

Technology is always changing how we get access to the internet so, look for updates and improvements to the NetSignNews.com show over the coming weeks and months.

    I mean sign language news!

  10. December 4, 2007 at 2:35 pm

Hey Deaf Mich, and Mike R, You guys should really check your facts before making wild statements about NetSignNews or anyone else…

It is true that Patrick is a hearing person, now severely hard of Hearing, and he is also a CODA, a 2 time EMMY award winner with Jane Norman and Peter Wolf for NEWSIGN 4, which was the 1st TV new program in ASL produced on NBC TV San Francisco in 1971 to 1973. Patrick is also the designer and inventor of the MCM, the first electronic portable TDD which made its debut in 1973.

After moving to Tucson in ’91, Patrick established Network Arizona, a premiere interpreting agency that went head to head with business and government institutions in securing communications access for Deaf employees and students, as well as mentoring new interpreters into the interpreting scene when other agencies wouldn’t consider them as a valubale resource. Naturally, I have stepped on a few toes along the way, but they were toes that needed stepping on, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

So, you can see that Patrick’s work over the last 40 years has been at the expense? of the Deaf community?

It always saddens me to learn that people with axes to grind, or maybe to much time on their hands, are more than willing to engage in malicious gossip instead of taking the time to search for the facts. In other words, if you want to know something be sure to listen to all the sides of any story before jumping to conclusions and getting caught with egg on your face.

By the way, No one has ever worked for free, or not been paid for their work, or not treated with dignity and professionalism. Granted the work we do is not for everyone. Not everyone can be an anchor, news writer, or understands the requirements of journalism. Our goal is, and always has been, to provide equal access to news, real news not gossip, and to develop new employment opportunities for Deaf and hearing impaired people as we break down barriers and open up channels of communications.

So, if you guys want to know something about NetSignNews, its staff, and anchors, just ask us and we will be more than happy to give you the real story.

Enjoy the news program, after all the program is for you.

This afternoon watched NetSignNews and I saw Nick as a newcaster using fake last name on Newscasters. I knew you are Nicholas Rogalski also your wife Jessica too. How disgusted you are!

Are you speak for yourself? I think so.

That’s his way always lying about himself. Nothing new since 10 years old boy! Jeez. Grow up!

  13. About Nick's Name
    December 5, 2007 at 11:01 am

Not unusual for news anchors to use different name than their real name. That for identity protection. Even on CNN, some anchors not use their real name.

    December 5, 2007 at 10:41 pm

Oh is that Nick with red hair and very short with lots of emotion guy? I met him at RIT. By the way its not true about anchors. I work at NBC for 10 years. In past I work for MTV and they use real name for anchors. But what do you need for identity protection? Since, name already spread about you and your wife. we are not that stupid about it.

I watch him very careful with his sign. His sign language is awkward because he looks at someone who is behind the camera?

He said he wants to be like CNN reporter? So where is the close captioned?

Talk positive or negative about him. He has to face the reality if he does not like it or not.

I think everyone should realize that Kit Patrick Corson, the founder of DBN and NetSignNews, is the child of two deaf parents. He has been immersed in the deaf community, and has used ASL, his whole life. In fact, he learned ASL before he learned to speak. He has been advocating for deaf people all his life. I don’t understand where all the negativity is coming from. Please read Patrick’s postings of December 3 and 4, 2007, to get a better understanding of who he is and what he has done and continues to do for the deaf community.
