Deaf Freedom Cruise Ship in trouble?

November 1, 2007

Just a note to tell you that I haven’t gotten the report from Fookem, JFLMad or Jimactor yet. Many people contacted asking if I have some more vlogs from them yet. Not yet. I think it is because of Tropical Storm Novel over there which it makes the network difficult. I got JFLMad’s last message,” Network is not good here. The weather is hot. For the islands tour. Yes suppose to go to labadee first today but cancel due to tropical storm hit there so they go the reveral routines. we will not stop bu labadee for sure so will visit 3 islands instead of 4. Be sure to check the file (vlog) tonight before you go bed”.  That was the last message on October 30th. I am sure they are okay.

Hurricane season technically extends from June 1 to November 30, nearly half the year. And it encompasses the Caribbean, Mexico and Florida, places that are among the most desirable for North Americans to visit. What’s more, these sunny locales have evolved into year-round destinations that flaunt their attractions in the face of potentially stormy weather. And they tempt us with lower rates during this prolonged season.

Most cruises normally won’t cancel, even if it is directly in your path. What they will do is switch your itineary and either do it backwards, last port first, etc. Or even change you to the opposite itineary east to west or west to east. This will be the cruise lines decision to avoid the worst of it. We have had both happen in the past. Not to worry, but I hope they would pack some seasickness meds, just to be on the safe said. Best of luck to everyone on Deaf Freedom Cruise Ship!

I am sure they will stilll keep you in a loop when their network permits. I guess we all need to wait until they get back.

Yes I recently saw another blog from Deafread.com where a deaf mom who is on the cruise said the winds are 50mph but the ship is fine and they cancelled the trip to Hiati and on way to Caymans… not sure if their trip will be cancelled for Jamica. She said they are having fun anyway!!

    They are all fine.

    Mr. X,
One person passed away, Dennis Cunningham from Nebraska. No one was kicked off the cruise due to drugs to my knowledge.

Only disappointed that our Deaf cruise has to CANCEL one island – Haiti because of tropical storm/very little alike hurriane… that cruise captain refuse go there near Haiti. yes they reverse the plan… only one island that we have to miss. Really, most of us look forward Haiti, accept that facts that we have to miss that. Maybe, Next time not during between May to end week of Nov!!! Waste time?
