Marlee Matlin has joined forces with Stephen M. Zakman Prods. to produce the feature film “Silent Knights,” an original screenplay from screenwriter-director Doug McKeon that will film in the fall in and around Pittsburgh.

Matlin will exec produce through her banner, Solo One Prods., alongside producing partner Jack Jason. I look forward to this! Thanks for the heads up!

We need to support all deaf filmmakers, producers, etc…

Aren’t we excited about Mosdeux’s upcoming project?! Oh, yes!! 🙂 😉 What about Adian Mack being a deaf director for HEARING actors/actresses?? Good for her!!!

Let’s not do any more of Marlee bashing – we won’t grow from there.

We need each other more than ever and kudos to Marlee for working with other deaf actors/actresses! It’s about fricking time, if you ask me! I wonder if she’s just too tired of playing with hearing people too much and want to get her feet back in the Deaf Community a little bit! 🙂

    Go for it, woman!

Former Marlee basher for years – yup. My sincere apologies!!

Check out eyeth films, a company based in Boston, I believe, they do ASL films but only have one film available on DVD. Here’s the link

Support the deaf actors by buying the Golden Legacy at their store. It’s nice to see these films out on the market, we just need to spread the word some more.

Please to Director of L WORD,

Please remove Marlee Matlin from L Word ..she did play in very bad example in deaf community This show has male interpreter while Matlin was dating a lady.. OH please,,, we deaf lesbians and gay dont use interpreter for dating nite at all.. please cut this off .. Matlin is making things worse for our deaf gay community! She has no idea whats like to be lesbain in this show.. She is str8 period ..you cannot act like lesbain just like acting like black people in white skin.. No way. That is so disgusting !

GO MARLEE!! i love her movies & i am so proud that after more than 20 years of winning that oscar, she’s still making herself heard. Stop bashing her!! The other poster is right, we should support anyone who represents the deaf community & it’s not her fault she plays many deaf roles in popular shows. just like EVERYONE else she needs a job. it’s not like there are pools of work for deaf actors either because stupid producers/directors don’t highlight deafness as much as they should. I mean look, marlee had to produce movies such as these that have story lines surrounding the deaf community.

She is brilliant on the L Word & quoting SB: “She is str8 period ..you cannot act like lesbain just like acting like black people in white skin.. No way. That is so disgusting !”

**JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, jennifer beals the TITLE character is NOT A “LESBAIN” she is STRAIGHT STRAIGHT STRAIGHT with a husband and a kid. so i guess you CAN act being a lesbian. now, she’s been playing a lesbian for 4 years now..so give marlee a break. SHEESH.
