Deaf woman, Sandra Gorrill’s Own Embroidery Business

Went to visit Deaf woman, Sandra Gorill, to see her own embroidery business. Was fascinated with her business and how it works. She showed me how to use the sewing machine and computer to transfer the images to the material on the sewing machine. She can make anything you want her to do. She will tell you the truth and say she can’t do it but almost every time someone asked her to do. she will complete the tasks. It can be anything from embroidery on shirts, bag, towels, etc and she can even do the quilt!  Very interesting! She’s been in this business for 14 years.

Purple Dream Bigger Event in Chicago for Howard Rosenblum

Summary: We went to Purple Dream Bigger Event to show our support of Howard Rosenblum. In the afternoon from 1 pm to 5 pm, they provided the workshop and they demonstrated their new product of Netbook P3, explained why it is important to have the 10-digits number, etc. Then at 6:45 pm, there was a party honoring Howard Rosenblum and we had Mistress of Ceremonies Lauren Teruel Ridloff interviewing Howard about his life, his experience working as a lawyer, etc. After that, we had Karen Aguilar giving the presentation about the Midwest Center on Law and the Deaf (MCLD), the organization Howard Rosenblum founded, has assisted thousands of deaf and hard of hearing people in attaining justice. After that, we mingled and enjoyed food and drinks as well meeting many friends!
